Abstract
640. Dickinson, F. W. Jan. 15. Optical-projection apparatus.-One or more small or side screens are arranged close to a centre or main screen, and in some cases at an angle thereto, in order that two or more kinematograph or like pictures, or a picture and dialogue matter, may be exhibited simultaneously side by side. In some cases, a large screen may be converted into several smaller screens by the use of movable division-pieces. The screens may be mounted on frames b, Fig. 4, secured by blocks i, Fig. 2, to a wall, one screen h being arranged at an angle to the other g ; or the screens may be mounted on rollers c, Fig. 6. Side screens h may be arranged to slide in guides 3, Fig. 10, so that they may be drawn in front of or moved away from a main screen g ; or folding side screens h, Fig. 12, may be employed. A main drop-screen g, Fig. 13, may be arranged in front of fixed or movable screens h. Where movable division - pieces are employed, these may be of the form shown in Fig. 14, with pins 10 engaging holes in top and bottom plates 11, or they may consist of flexible bands 9, Fig. 18, mounted on rollers 12. The division-pieces may be covered with cloth &c. and take the form of the usual picture border.
