Abstract

17,602. Rockstroh, M. July 24. [Addition to 4678/10.] Stopping and starting arrangements.-In the belt-controlling device described in the parent Specification, and particularly applicable for use with electrically-operated printing and stamping presses, wherein the fly-wheel of the press is driven from the motor pulley by a belt which is tightened to start the press by a tension roller carried by a lever b, the lever b and the bell-crank lever c are connected by a coiled spring a which tends to bring the lavers b, c together, and linked levers e, f, g are substituted for the cam and bolts previously used. When the press is to be stopped, the hand-lever d is operated as shown, and through the links e, f, the end of the lever c is caused to grip the partly slack belt on to the tensioning-roller, and then both levers b, c move down together until the brake h is applied to the fly-wheel of the press. To tension the belt, the lever d is moved to the right, thus raising the end c of the bell-crank lever and with it, by means of the spring a, the tensioning-lever b and roller.
