Abstract

15,258. Herdman, G. A. June 25. Metal-skeleton slabs.-A lath fabric to be used as a base for plaster or cement in the construction of slabs, consist, of laths or rods of wood, metal, or cane, forming the weft, and wires yarns, cords, &c. forming the warp. The wires &c. c are interwoven from border to border of the fabric and are returned along a line spaced laterally from the first. Fig. 1 shows one form in which short wires are interwoven with laths a, a<1>, &c., each wire passing once across the fabric and back. The ends d of the wires may be secured by twisting or by nailing to the lath a, or may be merely cranked or hooked over the lath a. Fig. 4 shows a modification in which rods or canes a*, a<1>* &c. are interwoven with a continuous wire &c., the strands of which are spaced apart laterally.
