Insulators are made with the central rod y or like member secured to a metal core or layer b, deposited in the interior of the insulator a by any suitable electrical or chemical process, which core is of such shape and size that it cannot come out of the clip or cap c on the insulator even in the event of the complete destruction of the insulator. The metal layer c connecting the insulator and its suspension may be deposited in the same manner as the core.
