Abstract

7089. Frost, A. E., and Dairy Outfit Co. March 20. Measured-quantities apparatus; stirring liquid in supply reservoir.-The apparatus is of that type, adapted to deliver a measured volume of milk or other liquid after the insertion of a coin, in which mechanism is provided for stirring the liquid in the reservoir simultaneously with the delivery of the contents of the measuring-vessel. The stirrer comprises spirallyarranged blades b connected to a collar e on the upper end of a spindle E, which passes through an open tube A<1> soldered to the bottom of the reservoir A. The spindle is driven from a sectoral disk K on the hand-actuated spindle C through bevel-gearing H, G, the inlet port of the valve N of the measuring-vessel being simultaneously closed and the outlet port opened; the return movement of the shaft serves to reverse the position of the ports. The valve N is controlled by a slot K<2> on the disk K, which co-operates with a pin M<2> on a lever M connected by a link M<1> to the valve spindle N<1>.
