Fastenings operated mechanically from a distance.-A fastening and releasing means for concentric tubes b, s, applicable to bomb-dropping in aerial warfare, comprises a transverse bolt g moved by an N-shaped slide f passing through a slot therein. The slide f is operated by a Bowden wire m against a spring k. A spring-pressed ball mounted in the wire tube may engage an aperture in the outer tube for positioning the tubes. In the application to aerial warfare, the tube b is attached to the fuselage of the air-craft and forms a director for the bomb r.
