Abstract

6063. Greenwell, A., and Rembold, F. W. March 10. Pivoted - blade type; bevelling. - Apparatus for cutting rubber tyres comprises a graduated table having an abutment 29 against which one end of the material is placed and held by a spring-actuated hinged clamp 30, and carriage 6 shdable along the table and supporting a universally pivoted cutter 20 adapted to coact with slots cut at different angles in a vertical plate 22 on the carriage, whereby the material may he cut at any desired angle with its length. The cutter is adjustably secured to a lever 14 pivoted at 15 to a post 10 adapted to swivel in the carriage. Pointers on the carriage coact with scales on the table graduated to correspond to diameters and circumferences of tyres, and the scale 26 for the angular slots is graduated to correspond to diameters.
