March 3: Heating-appliances; poultices.-A preparation to be used in wet poultices and dry packs consists of kieselguhr, mixed with volatile oils or oleo-resins, such as oil of turpentine and extract of capsicum, or with substances yielding volatile oils or oleoresins, such as mustard or capsicum. An antiseptic such as sodium perborate may be added.
