Gratings. - Relates to gully gratings which are reinforced in the process of casting by steel or wronght iron, and consists in employing longitudinal parallel reinforcing-bars near the outside edge of the grating. Fig. 1 shows a grating cast in sections a, b, c, d with reinforcing-bars e. In some cases, cored holes g are made in casting, the reinforcing-bars being afterwards fixed in position. The invention may be applied to gratings cast in one piece.
