Abstract

4432. Hirst, H., and Archer, C. H. Feb. 20. Resistances for heating. A wire C is wound in a deep groove on a tubular support A of insulating refractory material which is mounted un a metal rod G, a connecting-band D being secured at each end of the support. The wire is clamped to the ends of the bands, and the bands may be placed in wide grooves on the support A. Asbestos washers J may be clamped between the supports and the frame I. A number of such elements may be mounted in a frame for use in a radiator or stove. According to the Provisiona.l Specification, reflectors may be placed behind the elements, and curved metal shields provided to protect the connecting-parts. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 15,014/13.
