Abstract
535. Thompson, La M. A. Feb. 21, 1913, [Convention date]. Railways for recreation.-Relates to the construction of cars and of the track for a pleasure railway. The car body a is made separate from the truck and its sides k extend downwards over the side members b of the frame of the truck. The floor j of the body rests on the frame members and is of such a width that the sides k rest against the members b and are bolted to them. The body can thus be readily removed from the truck. In order to prevent derailment, side guides h are secured alongside the track and wheels i mounted on the sides of the car make contact with these guides if the car should tilt unduly. The wheels c of the car have their flanges on the outside, as shown, in order to prevent them from slipping off the rail when the wheels i make contact with the side guides. Specification 534/14 is referred to.
