Abstract

506. Freeman, L. Jan. 8. Roofs, slating. - Slates are secured to ridge bars by lead or other strips 3, 12 inserted in longitudinal slots and retained by lead or other dowels 6, which are formed by running molten metal into holes bored through the bars and strips. The strips are formed by folding sheet lead &c. or by drawing, and may be provided with beads 13, 14 at the centre and at the ends of the flanges securing the slates.
