Polymerized formaldehyde and derivatives thereof.-Polymerized formaldehyde in crystalline form is obtained by treating amorphous paraformaldehyde with hot solutions of acids or acid salts sufficient or insufficient in quantity to dissolve the substance, and then allowing the resulting mass to cool, preferably slowly; alpha-, #-, or gamma-polyoxymethylenes result according to the conditions. The products form condensation compounds with phenols. The Specification as open to inspection under Section 91 (3) (a) describes also the production of condensation products from the polyoxymethylenes and amines. This subject - matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
