Abstract

24,922. McNeil, D. Nov. 1. Levels.-The body 5 of a spirit level is provided near each of its ends with a hole 11 in which are fitted two sleeves 12, the inner ends of which are separated by a spacing-disk 15. Mirrors 16 are mounted between the ends of the sleeves and the disk. Within the two recesses thus formed, spirit tubes 17 are secured at right-angles to each other, the ends of the tubes being inserted in recesses 18 and then secured by plaster of paris &c. 19. Mounted in a recess in the upper surface of the level is a spirit tube 21, the ends of which rest on wood screws 22 by which the level is adjusted, the ends of the tube and the screws then being covered with plaster of paris &c. 23. Beneath the tube 21 is a mirror 27.
