Seed distributors; hoes. - In a seed drill, which is also applicable as a hoe &c., a hopper i is provided with a number of hoppers q formed by converging flaps p, the openings at the bottom being regulated by adjustable slides 8. The seed is distributed by recesses formed in groups 2, 3, 4 in a rotary shaft v, which is displaceable axially according to the size of the seeds. The hopper i merges into a rectangular casing formed by a back wall k, Fig. 3, a bottom l, and a front wall m. Seed-tubes t of triangular cross-section and carrying shares u are secured in slots in the bottom l. Between the front m and the hopper i, a displaceable slide bar 5, Fig. 4, provided with slots 7 to regulate the amount of seed sown, is mounted. A stirrer 12 with reduced and twisted portions 15 is rotated from the shaft v, Fig. 5. The hopper i is mounted in arms b of a U-shaped frame which is adjustably mounted in slots f in bars e carried by the road wheels a. For use as a hoe, the hopper i &c. may be swung out of position or removed, and the frame is provided with adjustably-mounted hoes 16, Fig. 7, provided with inclined horizontal parts 17. Ploughshares 23 may also be similarly mounted on the frame to form furrows for seed sowing. Draught-handles or shafts 10 are provided.
