Abstract

[Cognate Application, 4368/14.] Dynamos, cooling and ventilating. - Air for cooling and ventilating an electric generator is first treated in a wet filtering - apparatus of the type described in Specifications 6452/09, 20,880/09, 28,656/09, and, 11,183/11, [all in Class 55 (ii),: Gas manufacture &c.], and then freed from moisture &c. by passing through a set of baffle - plates. The air passes axially. through the drums C, Fig. 2, which are formed of coils of sheet metal. cloth, &c and rotate on horizontal axes with their lower halves dipping into water. It then passes between baffleplates D to remove moisture &c. and thence to the generator A. The baffle-plates D are formed as shown in Fig. 5 with a T-shaped cross-section, one arm of the T being formed into a curl or hook. This form may be produced by bending sheet metal.
