[Addition to 23,039/10.] Valves controlled from a distance.-In a pneumatically-actuated gas cock of the type in which an actuating-diaphragm e is coupled to a spring- pressed pendulous rod from which a slide valve h is suspended, the pendulous rod is formed of two chambered telescoping parts g, g<1> housing a spring m which tends to separate the parts and press the valve to its seat. The upper part g<1>, which may carry an adjustable abutment s for the spring, has two pivot pins n adapted to engage slots in a frame p sprung into the top of the casing. The valve seat k is clamped between two parts a, c of the casing, locked together by the by-pass connexion l.
