Abstract

Aminobenzoylamino compounds are obtained by condensing nitrobenzoyl chlorides or their homologues or substitution products with secondary diarylamines or alkylarylamines, such as ethylaniline, diphenylamine, ethyl-a-naphthylamine, or carbazole, and reducing the resulting nitrobenzoylamino compounds. Monoazo dyes are obtained by combining the diazo compounds of the aminobenzoylamino compounds described above with sulphonic acids of azo dye components. Products are specified from the following pairs of components:-paminobenzoylethyl-a-naphthylamine and 1-p-sulphophenyl-3-methyl-5-pyrazolone; p-aminobenzoyldiphenylaraine and methylketole sulphonic acid ; m-aminobenzoyldiphenylamine and 2-naphthol-8-sulphonic acid; p-aminoanisoyldiphenylamine and 1-naphthol-4-sulphonic acid; paminobenzoylethylphenylamine and 1-benzoylamino-8-naphthol-4:6-disulphonic acid. These products dye wool in acid baths yellow, orange, scarlet-red, and blue-red shades.
