Abstract

11,382. Weber, G. May 15, 1912, [Convention date]. Barrel and cylindrical hinges.-Relates to hinges of the kind made from a bar of iron provided with a beaded edge. To prevent waste in the manufacture, the bar is cut into equal pieces as shown by the dotted lines in Fig. 1, the bead portions b being staggered in relation to the web portions a. The projecting portions c of the bead portions b are turned to form the hinge knobs and the remaining parts of the bead portions b are bored to receive the hinge pins. Two bars are preferably cut together as shown in Fig. 3, the beads being adjacent to each other so that by connecting pieces from the same bar or from both bars, the finished hinges may, when the hinges are closed, have their flaps in the same plane or in parallel planes.
