Double and multiple fabrics; tubular fabrics. -In multiple fabrics, either flat or tubular, of the known type shown in Fig. 3 in which all the warps a interweave from surface to surface of the fabric, the weft. picks b in each successive ply lying midway of the picks in the one preceding, a smooth two-float twill surface is obtained on one or both surfaces by omitting the weftsin the outer ply or plies, so that the warp threads in the derived fabrics, shown in Figs. 4 and 5, respectively, each pass over two weft threads on the surface or surfaces. A double fabric with one two-float twill surface is also described.
