Toy index type-wheel machines; coupling machines for simultaneous operation.-A mechanical printing-telegraph mainly applicable for use as a toy comprises a type-wheel, an index-wheel, and a, hand-wheel all rotating together, with means for pressing a paper strip against the type-wheel, and connected to a similar machine at a distance by means of a flexible connexion. A hand-wheel 21, a type-wheel 24, and an index-wheel 23 are mounted on a common shaft 20, the wheels being so arranged that the letter printed is that showing through the opening 26". Platen - impression arrangements; letterspacing mechanism.-A paper strip 31 is arranged so as to be pressed up against the type-wheel, by means of a key 29, which when released rotates the feed-wheels 33, 34 by means of the ratchet - wheel 37 and pawl 38.
