Abstract

371. Lavertine, AG. Jan. 6. Line floats. - Relates to line floats of the kind attached to the line by a tapered pin so arranged that, when the float is drawn up to the rod, the pin releases it from the line, so that the remaining length of the line may be drawn in. The float 2 has at its upper end a tapered pin 3, which passes through an eye 4 and terminates in a head 5. The line a passes through the eye 4 and through a groove 6 in the head 5, and is retained in the head by a spring clip 7. The eye 4 is at the upper end of a length of wire which terminates below the float in an eye 8, through which the line is also passed. The line is secured to the float by pulling out the pin 3; when the float comes in contact with the rod, this pin is pushed down and the line released.
