Abstract

20,639. Schwartz, N. Sept. 10. Coats.-Knitted coats are made from separate sections, either woven to shape or cut from flat stock. The sections, namely, 12, 14 for the body, 11 for the sleeves, and ribbed cuffs 16, edgings 17, and other parts, are sewn together, fulled as a whole, and shrunk on a former. When dry, a nap is combed up on the outer surface, which gives an ornamental finish and obliterates the seams. The edges 18 are turned over to take buttons and button-holes.
