Abstract

Boxes; connexion fittings.-A contact box for connecting electric motors and the like to the mains comprises a contact plate 11 removably suspended by the hook 9 within the box and when used, as shown, for a three-phase motor carrying upon each of its faces contacts 16, 17, 18, 19 one of which is connected to a ground wire and the remainder to the motor leads 14. When the door 5 of the box is closed, the contacts 16 ... 19 are engaged by correspondinglysituated spring-plunger contacts 20, 21, 22, 23, mounted upon the door and connected through the fuses 24, 25, 26 to spring-plunger contacts 27, 28, 29 also upon the door, the latter contacts engaging the main terminals 8 within the box. The connexions of the leads 14 to the main contacts may be reversed by turning over the contact plate 11 so that the contacts on its opposite face engage those on the door.
