Abstract
18,131. Souza, A. E. de. Aug. 23, 1911, [Convention date]. Buffers.-Relates to shock or impact absorbing apparatus for railway, tramway, and automobile vehicles, and consists in employing coils, plates, or sheets of lead or lead alloy juxtaposed with steel springs. Fig. 1 shows main and auxiliary springs for railway buffers formed of helical coils c, c of lead or lead alloy alternating with the convolutions of helical springs b, b. Specification 18,213/11 is referred to.
