Abstract

17,385. Dupuis, C. July 26. Kinematograph films.-A film comprises a paper base b having the usual perforations c and having central openings which are filled with gelatine d bearing the pictures a. A suitable strip of paper is varnished and then gummed on one face and its other face is attached by a weak solution of rubber to a thinner paper band e after which the perforations c and the picture openings are cut out. The pictures a are prepared on a suitable temporary backing f and are applied to the gummed face of the band b. The backing f is then removed and the picture openings are filled with a gelatine solution d, to which alcohol and glycerine have been added. When this solution is sufficiently set, the strip e is removed, and carries away any superfluous gelatine with it. Several picture films a may be superposed for producing pictures in colour, or for stereoscopic projection.
