Abstract
14,814. Sabroe, A. June 25. Cow-milkers. - A device for cutting-off the suction from a teat cup when the flow of milk ceases consists of a valve c, which may be replaced by a ball, and which rests by its own weight on a seating in the chamber b, closing the pipe f which leads to the cup d. Air is admitted to the cup by a small aperture and acting on the under surface of the valve causes it to lift when suction is applied to the pipe a which communicates with the chamber b by means of passages h, k. The valve remains open while the milk passes, but closes when the flow ceases. The chamber b may be attached to the milk receiver, the pipe f passing out laterally for connexion with the cup.
