Player-pianos; blowing and exhausting air; winding-mechanism.-In a player-piano, the automatic action is arranged above the pianohammers, and the tracker-box is hinged or otherwise attached outside the casing. The bellows may be placed inside the piano-stool. The note-operating pneumatics d actuate the piano-action g through suitable linkage such as the levers e, f and flexible members e<1>. A bar h, containing ducts which lead to the action, passes through a slot in the piano casing. The slot in the casing may be closed by a cover. The bar i on the tracker-box k is secured by wing nuts or screws to the bar h, or the bar i may slide in guides on the bar h. Alternatively, the tracker-box may be hinged to the casing. The ducts in the bar i register with the ducts in the bar h and communicate with the trackerducts. In a modification, one bar is fixed to the lid of the piano to which the tracker-box is hinged. A casing is provided on the top of the instrument to contain the tracker-box when in the inoperative position.
