The draw-bar d is pivoted by a pin d<1> to a rod d<2> passing through the buffer and draw spring d<4> disposed between collars d<5> which move in guides d<6> fitted with stops. On the pin d<1> is pivoted an equalizing-lever e formedat its ends with holes through which pass the rear ends of the buffer-rods b, which move in guides b<1> on the headstock and are pivoted at their forward ends to the buffer cross-beam c. The buffer springs g are each disposed between a fixed collar h on the bufferrod and a loose washer g<1> which bears against the lever e. When the springs g have been compressed to a certain extent, stops on the buffer-rods transmit the shock to the spring d<4>.
