Abstract

11,822. Embrey, L. May 18. Baking-trays and the like, greasing.-Relates to machines of the kind described in Specification 26,073/04, for applying grease or oil to baking-tins &c., and comprises means for feeding the tins to the greasing-table automatically from the bottom of a stack, and for re-stacking the tins after greasing. The tin to be greased is dropped from the bottom of the stack o on to a table c, beneath which is arranged the spraying-device d. The stack n is supported on rests l, which are withdrawn when another tin is to be supplied, a second set of rests m being meanwhile drawn inwards beneath the second tin. The rests l, m are secured to pivoted vertical arms, and are operated by cams on a rotating shaft g. If the tins tend to stick to each other, the lowest one is detached by pressers t, which are raised and lowered by a cam on the shaft g engaging a bowl r, the pressers being separated, when lowered, by inclines t<2> engaging fixed abutments a<1>. During the spraying-operation, the tin is held between spring clips on the table c and when the spraying is finished the table c is moved laterally along the bed b by a cam engaging a counterweighted arm k, the previously-greased tins being pushed along and retained by a balanced pawl w. At each operation of the machine, a tin is lifted by a curved arm 5 and is added to a stack lying on the table b<1>, the arm 5 being mounted on a rock-shaft 6 actuated by a cam and links 3 from the shaft g. The various levers are kept up to their cams by springs or weights. An abnormal inward movement of the levers, due to the supply of tins giving out, may be utilized to disconnect the driving-gear.
