Plastic compositions containing oxychlorides. -A composition consisting of preferably 30 per cent of finely ground calcined magnesite, 5 per cent of finely ground commercial calcined magnesia, 3 per cent of Copal varnish, 21 per cent of sand, 1 per cent of pigment, if desired, and 40 per cent of magnesium chloride dissolved in an equal weight of water is used for making articles wholly or in part of artificial stone or marble. Wood, stone, and other materials may be inserted in the composition, for example, the frame or legs of a marbletopped table.
