5485. Snow, H. G., and Denby, W. F. March 5. Tracks for recreation. - An amusement apparatus consists of endless travelling belts B alternating with inclined shoots G. Passengers are deposited on the belt either by sliding down an incline A' or by means of a tilting platform, and are conveyed to the top of the inclined shoot, down which they slide. The upper run of the belt passes over rollers E, which are so placed as to produce undulations in the belt. The side frames carry ridge-pieces which extend over the edges of the belts to prevent them from lifting and to assist them in retaining their undulating contour. The whole device may be enclosed in a tent or structure, and the walls of the tent and the framework of the device may be covered with scenery.
