Abstract

4011. Suzuhi, T. Feb. 17. Chambers; air, supplying, circulating, and exhausting.-In the apparatus shown, a drying- chamber 1 has an air-distributing chamber 2 at one end and an air-exhaustion chamber 3 at the other, air being admitted by a flue 5 and the distribution being regulated by a series of baffles 11 on a partition 7 formed with ports 9. Aljustable shutters 12 are provided for ports in an exit partition 8. A series of such chambers is arranged with the distributionchamber of one next the exhaustion chamber of the next. The material to be dried is carried on trucks A, doors 13, 14 being provided for their entry and exit. Wings 18 pivoted on the walls of the chamber make contact with the trucks and force air through the materials therein. In a modification, air supply and exhaust chambers are arranged alternately along both sides of a single drying-chamber through which trucks pass.
