Wardrobes.-A folding wardrobe or mantle-holder, which may also be used as a hat-stand, comprises one or more telescopic uprights a<1>, a<11>, a<111>, with swivelling feet g, and telescopic transverse rods d<1>, d<11>, Fig. 1, or a rigid rod d<1111>, Fig. 12. The parts of the rods and the feet are secured by thumb-screws. The whole is enclosed by a curtain open at the front, and the garments may be suspended from the top rods or from a separate rod such as h, Fig. 1. A detachable and adjustable top for supporting bats may be in the form of a folding trelliswork frame n, Fig. 5, supported on swivelling rods l, Fig. 1, or of a flexible lath fabric, or of telescopic bars p, Fig. 9. When only two uprights and a rigid top bar are used, stop plates are fitted to engage in a frame r, Fig. 12, composed of two parts hinged longitudinally and fitting over the rigid top bar. When only one upright is employed, as shown in Fig. 12, a button x in the centre of the top cross-bar d<1111> may be turned to engage a notch in the frame r, and the ends of the top bar may be steadied by chains z hooked to pivoted crossmembers forming feet.
