Abstract

1954. Fabre, M. Jan. 25, 1911, [Convention date]. Portable-track wheels.-The hub a, Figs. 1 and 7, keyed to the axle is formed with a disk c having widely-spaced teeth d on its periphery. Two webs f, g, riveted together to form the wheel body, fit against the sides of the disk and are formed with lateral extensions turning on rings m, m<1>, of antifriction metal seated on the hub. Lubricant is admitted through apertures o, o<1> and descends through grooves to circular passages in the hub. It is retained by a circular leather joint held by lateral metal rings. In the form shown in Fig. 2, one web is seated within the other. In Fig. 3 the web g is secured in the tyre by an annular key r. In the case of a small wheel shown in Fig. 6, the web f is integral with the tyre and a cap closing one end of the hub. The web g is without a bearing-surface and is formed with a curved lip to retain lubricant. The lateral surfaces of the disk c which carry rings m, m<1> may be formed at the periphery of an inner wheel.
