Abstract

Cutting girders; punches.-In an apparatus for cutting the webs of double T-girders or channel and other sectional iron after the flanges have been cut off on other cutters, in which a vertically-movable upper cutter and a fixed lower cutter and a support for the web are used, the web is mounted on a support arranged laterally of the lower cutter and adjustable in a direction normal to the cutters, so that the distance of the support from the cutting- edge may be altered. At the side of the cutters 1, 2, which may, as shown, be arranged in duplicate, a support 3 for the web is placed so as to be adjustable by a screw 4. When used for making deep cuts for connecting bars of different height by a butt joint, the support 3 is provided with a separate cutting-blade 5, shown in the cutting position in Fig. 6.
