Handles with recessed-back retaining-devices for brushes; folding handles.-Relates to toothbrushes of the kind having the stock or part carrying the bristles or the like detachable from the handle portion. The stock D is a tapered piece of bone or other material, and is inserted endways into a correspondingly tapered recess C in the handle A formed by flanges B. The handle may be in one piece, as shown in Fig. 2, or in two parts, as shown in Fig. 8, adapted to be folded about the pivot H or retained in extended position by the slide J.
