Disk mills.-Apparatus for grinding grain &c. consists of two or more pairs of stones or grinding-surfaces F, G and F<1>, G<1> arranged upon and operated by a single horizontal shaft E, the different sets being separated by partitions K on the casing C and the runners F having radial arms and scrapers to direct the partially - ground material on to a radial arm or web on the adjacent partition and into the eye m of the stationary stone G' of the next set. The grain &c. is fed to the eye a of the first bedstone G by a hopper H, and the casing enclosing the first pair of stones may be perforated at the bottom f. The adjusting means is similar to that described in Specification 24,228/07. The Provisional Specification states that the runner has curved fan blades which deliver the material to a curved radial carrier or shoot, the lower part of which forms a container for a helix driven by the horizontal shaft; and that the stones may be fitted with central kibbling-plates,
