Abstract
23,063. Eichelkraut, W. Dec. 9, 1910. Payment apertures, controlling access to.- Access to cashiers' and like payment apertures is obtained through a door which can only be opened when the cashier's window is closed, and is locked while the window is open. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 1, the door 3 giving access to the payment window 1 is connected by rods &c. 14, 15, 19 with a bolt 20 which locks the window when the door is open. When the door is shut and the window is slid open, a strip 12 on the window operates a bell-crank lever 10, and connexions 9, 7, 8, 6 so as to actuate a bolt 5 to lock the door. In a modification, instead of the locking-arrangement 14, 15, 19, 20, a catch-lever may be provided to hold the bolt 5 in the withdrawn position when the door is open, thus preventing movement of the lever 10 and, therefore, of the window. The bolt is released when the door-latch engages the catchlever. In the electrically-operated modification shown in Fig. 4, the closing of the door completes circuit at 30 so as to energize a solenoid 25 and withdraw a bolt 24 from the window. The opening of the window closes, by means of the strip 12, the circuit of a solenoid 33, which thereupon actuates the bolt 5 to lock the door.
