[Connate Application, 24,513/11.] Corsets are provided with an abdominal belt detachable at the sides from the corset and fastened in front by laces, one half of the belt being made in two parts formed by hooks and eyes &c., so as to enable the belt to be undone without unlacing. As shown in Fig. 2, the halves b, b<1> of the belt are joined by lacing c, and one half b<1> is made in two parts joined by hooks and eyes e, f, which may be attached to a metal strip. As shown in Fig. 4, the halves of the belt are detachably secured to the sides of the corset a by hooks and eyes g, h, there being a larger number of hooks h so as to allow of adjustment. The belt is held down in front by a hook i on the corset, or by a hook slotted to engage the studs on the corset. Suspenders k may be attached to the belt or to the corset. The hooks and eyes may be attached to strips or pieces of metal.
