Armatures, machines and apparatus for making.-An apparatus for mechanically winding armatures consists of a holder b, Fig. 1, having guides f and curved guides g on the armature shaft, the bobbin carrying the supply of wires k being journaled apart from the apparatus. When each pair of grooves has received half its windings, the guides g are turned round and supported by the pins i<1> so that the remainder is wound on the other side of the armature shaft. The horn-shaped guides f, which are arranged in pairs pointing in opposite directions, are secured to the cheeks b of the holder by screws and slots. A spring d keeps the cheeks b pressed against the armature. The armature may be held stationary and the supply bobbin rotated about it. The Specification as open to inspection under Section 91 (3) (a) comprises also a modification in which the curved guides g are replaced by a closed ring mounted on radial arms and guided by rollers on the frame. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
