Abstract

17,831. Newsome, A. Aug. 5. Harvesting-machines.-A reaping and binding machine is propelled by driving the main wheel 1 from an engine 10 mounted on a wheeled frame 8 pivoted on the main axle 2. The machine is adjusted by means of ordinary lever mechanism 7, 7<Î> connected to an arm 20 on the frame 8. Guideframes 21 span the side members of the frame 8. The wheel 1 may be driven from the engine 10 by change-speed and reversing-mechanism 12, chain gearing 13, and a clutch 17 controlled by levers 18, 19 near a seat 16. The frame 8 is provided with one or two front steering-wheels 9 controlled by means of a band-wheel 15.
