Moving - chamber apparatus with several chambers; varying quantity measured. - In continuously-acting apparatus for liquids or granular and pulverulent materials, the measuring - chambers c are passages extending transversely across a plug b which rotates in a stationary casing a having filling and discharging apertures g, h. The passages c have pistons d, which slide freely from one end of the passages to the other as the plug rotates, and are built up in layers with leather packing-disks 3. By varying the number of layers the capacities of the measuring-chambers are varied. The plug, which is tapered to fit a correspondingly tapered casing, has gudgeons k, m rotating in bearings in end frames p. One gudgeon m has a screw w with a shoulder x bearing against a washer g. By adjusting the screw w, the plug may be tightened to prevent leakage. The plug is rotated through gearing from a shaft s which may also drive a stirrer in the hopper f and the feeding-means for the receptacles, which are moved below the outlets h. The shaft of the stirrer may be heated internally.
