Abstract
12,356. Levin, A. May 25, 1910, [Convention date]. Preserving fish, game, etc.; condiments.- Fish, game, &c. are cleansed and washed, covered with dry salt or saltpetre (or both), again washed in cold water, cooked in boiling water, immersed in cold flowing water, and packed in jars with a preservative liquid prepared from malt vinegar, sugar or honey (or both), malt extract, pepper, flavourings such as cinnamon and bay leaves, and salicylic acid, to which gelatine &c. may be added. The Specification as open to inspection under Section 91 (3) (a) comprises also the preservation of oysters by packing in receptacles with the above preservative; this subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
