Double-acting piston pumps; assembling parts; valves, arrangement of; actuating by hand power.-In a pump of the type having an open-ended barrel with open-ended suction and delivery passages at each side and end covers carrying the valves, the valve chambers and valve seats are formed in the covers themselves, .which are connected together by bolts outside the barrel. The pump shown in Fig. 2 is adapted for hand operation by means of a toothed sector f and a hand lever, not shown. The valves c, d are carried in removable plugs c<1>, d<1> upon the end covers b, and are pressed upon their seats by springs. The clearance spaces in the piston are filled by plugs of wood e.
