Abstract

6642. Farbenfabriken vorm. F. Bayer & Co. April 6, 1910, [Convention date]. Vulcanizing.-Synthetic caoutchouc obtained as described in Specifications 15,254/10, 25,850/10, and 6540/11, [all in Class 2(iii), Dyes &c.], is vulcanized by means of the substances and processes used for vulcanizing natural caoutchouc. For example, 5 parts of caoutchouc obtained from erythrene are dissolved in 100 parts of benzene, a solution of 1 part of sulphur chloride in 50 parts of carbon bisulphide is added, and after standing for a few minutes it is poured into alcohol. On stirring, a tough product is obtained.
