Abstract
4408. Adam, F., and Stamkort, R. Feb. 21. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Balancing automatically. An aerial machine is balanced automatically by an adjustable carriage d carrying two electric accumulators f, f<1>, one at each end, which supply current to two motors for moving the carriage. The carriage d is provided with a rack g gearing with a pinion h on a shaft i connected to two electromotors I, II adapted to rotate it in opposite directions. Two leads k, k<1> are secured to the framework of the machine adjacent to the carriage, and connect like poles of the accumulators by sliding contacts s. The lead k is connected by wires l, l<1> to the motors, and the lead k<1> is connected to the middle of a mercury switch n by a wire m. Wires o, o<1> connect the terminals of the switch to the motors. When the machine tilts, the circuit of one or other of the motors is completed, and moves the carriage d to restore equilibrium.
