Abstract

494. Greenwald, M. Jan. 7. Ornamenting.-Consists in producing letters and designs on metal plates, to form nameplates, by setting up a number of wooden or metal blocks, upon which the required designs have been engraved or etched, or have been embossed or raised, inking the raised parts of the design thus set up, and transferring by an offset roller to the metal plate. The parts of the plate not covered with ink are then etched or cut away, and the sunk designs thus formed are filled in with paint or enamel in the usual way.
