Abstract
30,181. Lassen, J. J., and Hjort, V. F. Dec. 29. Heating-water; feed-water, heating. - In a feed-water heater and purifier, steam enters by a shaft C into a separating - chamber B, and, rising through gauze partitions B', passes into a pipe D which leads into perforated steam-pipes D' lying in the water tank E. The steam escapes through the surrounding water, and, passing upwards, is met by the jets of water from the perforations J' in the corrugated distributing trays J which are supplied from a sprinkler G. Any uncondensed steam escapes by a shaft K. The heated water passes down through the stand-pipe E<1> into the chamber F and is drawn off by a pipe F<2> after passing through filtering - material F'. The water supply valve G<2> is controlled by the level of the water in the filter chamber.
