Tripping-arrangements. - Relates to travelling-cylinder web-perfecting machines, and in particular to means for raising the impression cylinder during the return travel. The impression cylinders 18, 19, which co-operate with type-beds 10, 9, are mounted in eccentrics 22, 23 in a frame 16 reciprocated by a crank and a connecting-rod 14. The eccentrics are formed with arms 24, 25, connected by a link 26, carrying a roller 38, which is adapted to be engaged by the groove 37 in a cam 36 on a short shaft 35 mounted in the connecting-rod 14. The outer end of this shaft carries a mutilated pinion 34, in engagement with a sector 33 secured to the carriage 16. As the rod 14 is raised from the position shown in Fig. 5, by the rotation of the driving-crank in a counter-clockwise direction, the cam 36 is rotated into engagement with the roller 38, and the upward movement of the rod rotates the eccentrics 22, 23 to lift the cylinders. At the other end of the travel, the lowering of the rod depresses the cylinders, after which the cam 36 is disengaged from the roller 38. During the period when the cam 36 is out of engagement, the link 26 is held depressed by a slide 42, which engages a stop 45 on the link and is operated by an arm 40 on the end of the rod 14.
